The Commercial Appraisal Procurement Specialist fills a remote role (work from home) in MountainSeed’s Procurement department. The Commercial Appraisal Procurement Specialist will contribute by supporting the Procurement Team Leader with the responsibility of providing day to day commercial appraisal procurement technical advice to banks in conjunction with agreed procurement strategies and monitoring of day to day appraisal orders.
Review each new order for commercial appraisals, evaluations, environmental reports, and business/equipment reports, and obtain additional information from the financial institution as needed
Select and assign appraisers from the financial institution appraiser panels; clearly communicate scope of work to, and respond to bid questions from, the appraiser; review and deliver bids to the clients; respond to questions from clients; review and process or escalate red flag orders
Appropriately escalate difficult, complex or unusual assignments to Procurement Team Leader
Assist team members with residential appraisal orders as needed
Adhere to all Procurement processes and procedures
Support existing procurement team with any day to day issues
Liaise with members of the operations and commercial teams as necessary to ensure that high levels of internal and external customer service are provided
Attend weekly team meetings
At least ten (10) years of commercial real-estate appraisal experience working with or for regulated financial institutions and/or commercial real-estate appraisal ordering experience from a financial institution
Certified General Appraiser license is preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of commercial valuation methods, techniques and forms including an understanding of property rights (i.e. fee simple, leased fee, and leasehold)
Knowledge of, and experience working with USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) and the myriad of laws, rules, regulations and guidelines governing the appraisal valuation process at financial institutions, including the primary federal financial institution regulators’ regulations and guidelines, as well as state appraisal and appraisal-management-company statutes and board rules
Proactive client-service mentality and desire to deliver first class service to clients
Sharp written and verbal communication skills
Affinity for working in a fast-paced environment with continuous focus on self and company improvement
Technological literacy and mastery of navigating standard office software
Telecommuting is allowed.
